"It's dead, Jim."

I'm a big Star Trek fan and one of my favorite lines is Dr. "Bones" McCoy's "He's dead, Jim."
He has said it so many times in so many ways it's just plain funny.

I mention that because my phone died last night. It was a painful death too. The phone rang and I crossed the room, reached down to pick up the receiver and zapped myself with a blast of static electricity.

It's dead, Jim.

Great! Now I have to go out and get another phone. To make matters worse, they don't make that phone any more so I have to get a whole new phone system.

Stupid static electricity.
