No Good Deed

Have you heard the saying "No good deed goes unpunished"?

I came in late at night Sunday evening and worked through the night to help upgrade over 45 servers with all their latest patches and such. Everything went smoothly and we were done by 4AM. Apparently some of the "upper echelon" didn't appreciate that the email server was down for 4 hours. Even though a notification went out alerting everyone about the planned outage. So I've been fired.

It didn't help that I told them they were too cheap to have a clustered setup that would have let the emails flow while we worked on each server separately.

Anyways... Now I guess I'll have plenty of time to work on my blog. I do have tons of material from my years of service in the technical industry.
