It's All Your Fault!

Email tech support is very common. It is probably because almost everyone in the entire world has at least one or more email addresses. I'm called upon frequently to correct email issues. In this case, I was actually blamed for someone's inability to use email.

GTG> Grumpy Tech Support. How may I help you today?
User> Email doesn't work.
GTG> I see. Are you getting any sort of error message?
User> No. I'm trying to send an email and it won't let me.
GTG> Is the email being blocked or returned. The program will usually let you know.
User> No! You don't understand. I'm trying to send this email.
GTG> Yes, Sir. When you press the Send button, what happens?
User> Nothing! It won't do anything!
GTG> So clicking on Send doesn't do anything at all? Like your PC is locked up?
User> No! It won't send! I get a message back that it won't send!
GTG> Ah! So it does do something. Can you read the message you get back?
User> Of course I can read it! It says Undeliverable. Unknown user. "daughter@yahoo.com"
GTG> No problem. Let's check the email address to make sure it is spelled correctly...
User> Of course it's spelled correctly. It clearly says "daughter@yahoo.com"
GTG> Ok, I found it. I'm looking at the email server logs. You are attempting to send an email to "daughter@YAHO.com", not Yahoo.com.
User> No! You are mistaken! I told you who I was sending it to. It's all your fault this message won't go through!
GTG> Excuse me?
User> Now fix the email so I can send it.
GTG> Sir, I can't fix a message once it is in the queue. Look at the top and just verify with me the spelling of the...
User> I already told you! I spelled it right! Now fix the email or I'm calling your supervisor!
GTG> Sir, I AM the supervisor. Let's just type the email address from scratch and I'll bet you $100 it will go through.
User> Don't play with me, Sonny!
GTG> One. Hundred. Dollars. Bet me.
User> ...
GTG> I have the hundred dollar bill right here. Humor me and type "daughter@Y-A-H-O-O-.com" for me.

GTG> Did you hit the Send button?
User> (click)
GTG> That's what I thought you said.

And remember. It was all my fault. I used my psychic powers to work my way through the computer connection and stop him from typing that extra letter "O". That's how far my evil extends. So watch out! I'm looking at your keyboard now... Are you ready to start typing?
